Transforming a Former Bank into a Modern Dental Practice
AzuraBuild was appointed to transform a former Clydesdale Bank in Glasgow into a fully equipped dental practice, training facility and laboratory for FAME Dentistry.
The building had been vacant for around 15 years and required extensive work before the fit-out could begin. With no active water or electrical services, a leaking roof and an overgrown car park, the project started with bringing the property back into a usable condition.
The Transformation
Once the building was made secure and weatherproof, AzuraBuild carried out major structural alterations, including the installation of new steels and modifications to the existing staircase to meet commercial regulations.
The ground floor was completely reconfigured to create six dental surgeries, consultation rooms, offices, staff facilities, accessible toilets, reception and waiting areas.
A full range of new services was also installed, including electrics, data, fire and security systems, air conditioning, specialist dental ventilation and services for the dental equipment.
Specialist finishes included medical-grade flooring in the surgeries, herringbone Karndean flooring throughout other areas, lead-lined doors where required, antibacterial paint and a specialist ceiling system.
AzuraBuild also supplied and fitted bespoke cabinetry, custom desks, waiting-area furniture and a purpose-built reception desk, complemented by a Venetian plaster feature wall.
The Result
AzuraBuild transformed a long-vacant commercial property into a modern, highly specialised dental environment built around the needs of FAME Dentistry.
The completed project combines clinical spaces, laboratories, training facilities and bespoke interiors within one fully refurbished building.
